The Academy
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) is where all officers in the British Army are trained to take on the responsibility of leading their soldiers. I was fortunate enough to live inside and outside the wire for 10 years in three different army quarters. It was a place I explored extensively, with my children and dog, often carrying my camera.
It was rather like living in a bubble. During the cadet's term time it is a thriving hub, gun fire from the range and cadets in green with large packs on their bags running past your house. In recess, when the cadets are all away it is a peaceful haven with extensive grounds and two large lakes. With wonderful buildings full of history and beautifully kept grounds it is a place dear to my heart. All my children learnt to drive around the roads in Sandhurst. We walked the lakes countless times, on hot days we swam in its cool water. These photographs show the over looked, things that interested me and the beauty I saw around me.
